Types of Silver


Silver Bars
Silver Bars typically come in the sizes of 1 oz. 5oz. and 10 oz. Silver bars are typically poured by refineries and are characterized by the wording and design on the bar.

Silver Coins
Coins made of silver and are produced by a mint. Many of these coins are well known and hold can be valued higher than the current silver spot price. These coins are typically characterized by well known unique designs. Popular silver coins are, American Silver Eagles, Canadian Maple Leafs, British Britannias, Southern African Krugerrands, Mexican Libertads, Austrian Philharmonics, African elephants  and Chinese Silver Pandas. Many of these coins are well known and are collected by many stackers. As these coins tend to be minted yearly, certain years may be in short supply and can hold a higher value.

Silver Rounds
Rounds made of silver. These rounds are typically produced buy companies that also produce silver bars. These rounds are typically characterized with wording and an design to indicate where they were poured.

Junk Silver
Junk silver or constitutional silver are 90% silver coins minted by the United States government. This type of silver is easy to collect bits at a time as it comes in smaller denominations than most silver coins, rounds or bars. Junk silver may also be refferd to as survival silver, as many silver stackers will collect high quantities of junk silver in case of economic collapse.
